1998-99 Installation Guide    37 Windshield Removal Protect all surfaces inside and out. Place protective tape in the areas where a tool may slip and damage the surface.Tape the defroster vents to prevent glass and debris from falling into them. Open the hood. Remove the car top. There are two latches located behind the sun visors. Remove the wiper covers and 14 mm nuts. Disconnect the washer hoses from each wiper. Remove the wipers and store in a safe area. Remove the cowl by removing the cowl retainers. Pry the center of the retainers up and then remove the retainers. Unplug the main washer hose and remove the cowl. Store in a safe place. Pry out the three weatherstrip retainers    at the bottom of the "A" pillar. Two are hidden in the weatherstrip. Carefully      separate the weatherstrip from the retainer. It is held with a strong adhesive that is difficult to remove. Remove the interior "A" pillar garnish moldings with your fingers. This reveals a Phillips screw embedded into the top of the weatherstrip. Remove them. Peel back the top inside weatherstrip from the retainer to reveal Phillips screws. Remove them to release the top weatherstrip retainer. Carefully remove the top weatherstrip retainer and weatherstrip as a unit. Do not separate. Remove the top molding    held by foam tape. Remove the "A" pillar weatherstrip retainers by removing the Phillips screws and separating the foam tape. Remove the plastic applique at the bottom by removing the two Phillips screws and sliding it off. Remove the "A" pillar moldings. Cut out the windshield using the desired tool. The adhesive bead can be thick in the bottom center. If removal is with a power tool, dont forget to lubricate the cutting area.
