The Honda Accord has been renowned for its finesse and refinement over many years. However, recent models have not quite reached their usual standard, particularly in the area of road and general operational noise.  It is this area that Honda has sought to address in the 2001 model upgrade. From the exterior, the Accord has been given a more aggressive stance with a higher bonnet line, a new chrome grille and minor changes to the front bumper.  Although minor cosmetic changes have been adopted at the rear, these are only visible when comparing directly with the previous model.  The most obvious change visible from the outside is the adoption of alloy wheels on the base model VTi-L. Pricing for the Accord starts at $38,900 for the VTi-L manual, with an additional $2000 for the automatic version.  The V6 is priced at $49,100 and the V6L tops the range at $52,900.  Metallic paint and a rear spoiler are optional on all models for an additional $259 and $574 respectively, and a CD player can be added to the VTi-L models for $536.
