Honda Civic 2006-07 A. Raise hood and prop it using prop rod for the last time. B. Place a piece of masking tape on the hoods frame. C. Measure from the top of the hoods hinge up along the hoods frame and place a mark at 7-1/2 . This mark will be used to align the hood bracket (centerline of the ball-stud). You should have the following before beginning: * (1) Gas spring Part No. RT-QL-170-A6A-SS (Be sure to cycle before installing) * (1) Ball-stud brackets (smaller bracket used on hood) * (2) Two rivets for hood bracket * Jacknut assembly (1) special wrench, (1) washer, (1) jack-nut, (1) lock-nut * Printed Color Instructions * Gas Spring Locking clips (these are already installed on large end of the gas-spring ball ends remove before assembly Please gather the following tools before you begin the installation: * Power Drill * 3/16, indexed 11 & 5/32 drill bits * 7/16 & 5/8 drill bits * 1/2 socket and socket wrench * Fine permanent marker or felt tip pen * Tape Measure or ruler * Masking Tape * Hammer & center punch * Rivet gun, capable of 3/16 rivets (most brands can handle this size) Note: Only use the rivets supplied in the QuickLIFT kit.
