The European VW Polo cant be imported to Canada because it wont meet North American crash standards. Funny, Japanese and Korean automakers dont seem to have these kind of problems - but there you are. With the new 2007 VW Rabbit starting at almost $20,000, Volkswagen could have been without an affordable, entry- level car for 2007. Not only that, Volkswagen Canada wont be offering a diesel Golf/Rabbit or Jetta for 2007 because the current TDI engine doesnt meet new diesel emission standards.
