The SmarTCS â ¢ model SC-300 is a simple memory device that remembers when you disable or enable the traction control system (TCS) while you are driving your NSX. The next time you start your NSX, the SmarTCS â ¢ will set the TCS to the last state it was in before the engine was stopped. Application The SmarTCS â ¢ model SC-300 will work in NSX model years 1991 through 1994. The 1995 and later model years have a slightly different TCS enable / disable system which is not compatible with the model SC-300 SmarTCS â ¢ . How does the SmarTCS â ¢ work? The SmarTCS â ¢ connects to three wires from the traction control unit and monitors the enable / disable state of the TCS. It stores this information in non-volatile memory (EEPROM) so that it can restore the TCS to the last state it was in prior to being powered down.
